Why an AGPL Waiver?
The core Signing Room software is licensed under the strict AGPLv3 open-source license. This means if you deploy it on a network and modify it, you are legally obligated to release your modified source code to the public. For financial institutions, neo-banks, and enterprise software providers who need to integrate our Zero-Knowledge coordination stack into their proprietary backends without open-sourcing their intellectual property, a commercial waiver is required.
Trademark Policy
While our codebase is open-source, the Signing Room® name is a trademark of Stateless Research Ltd (registered in the UK, with international registrations pending). The Community Edition license does not grant the right to use these trademarks for commercial purposes or modified public deployments. This policy strictly protects end-users from malicious forks or phishing attempts. Enterprise licensees receive complete whitelabeling rights to utilize our coordination infrastructure under their own trusted brand.
